Why Yoga camp?

With the increasing pressures from society and social media, children more than ever need a foundation of strength and understanding to successfully navigate the world. What better way to give your child an opportunity to learn new life-enhancing skills as well as be in a joyful environment than our Summer Kids’ Camp in Tapovanam Yoga. Your child will have fun with new friends and discover new interests.

They will be encouraged to explore every aspect of life: physical, mental and spiritual. Children learn the practice of yoga, how to meditate (sit quietly for the younger ones!) and just as importantly through a wide-range of activities to share, to give, to have compassion, to broaden their minds, and to develop discipline. They learn the value of karma yoga (selfless service) as they help to maintain the Ashram with their daily tasks.

We help children to understand and explore every aspect of Yoga which helps them in adopting a healthy lifestyle for their well being.

Why Tapovana?

‘Sree Sankara Tapovanam International Yoga Training Centre’ is nestled in a nature sanctuary nurtured by the
blessings of Lord Rama- Lakshmana from famous Vilwadrinatha Temple. Nothing is more captivating than enjoying a stroll around the Tapovanam which stand tall from the foresight of great saints. On the abode of Punarjeni hills, enlightened by the fresh air and cool breeze from the freshwater lake, Nirmal Thadak, you can rejuvenate your
body and mind to leave you to feel inspired, refreshed and peaceful.

  • Classes lead by veteran Yoga guru Bhamashree Kaithapram Vasudevan Namboodiri.
  • Fresh hustle free atmosphere to get the ultimate connection of mind and body.
  • Right place for beginners to start practicing Yoga and meditation.
  • Meditation and classes conducted indoor at Athreyam cultural centre and outdoor in the Meditation mandapa,
Agasthya mandapa, Punerjeni Hill top, Bodhivana etc.
  • Arts and creative classes, outdoor games, indoor games, and workshops with special guest teachers
  • Punerjani Hill trekking under the supervision of experienced staff.
  • Organized day trips to local places of interest.
  • Practice of ‘Karma Yoga’ to promote the selfless service in young minds.
  • Tapovana hold a wide floral and faunal diversity with more than 1000 species of flora (member of Botanic
Garden Conservation International) and many birds like peacock, hummingbird, parrots, hornbill etc and butterfly varieties. It will be a great opportunity for children to see and feel Nature along with practicing Yoga.
  • The 10 days stay in the camp will assist the children to come out of their cocoons of parental care and
dependency and helps them to evolve into a team player and self-dependent one.
