Athreya Research Foundation in association with Lions Club of Vilwathri conducted a one day public awareness campaign “Rethubhetham ariyathe” – an awareness program on various summer diseases and its prevention and management through Ayurveda at Athreyam Campus, Thiruvilwamala on 30th March 2018. The program was inaugurated by respected Member of Legislative Assembly Shri. U. R. Pradeep. Enlightening talks were delivered by Dr. M. A. Hemachandran, Dr. Anima Anup and Shri. Kaithapram Vasudevan Namboothiri. Free Medical consultation was also provided to the participants by the staff of Athreyam Ayurvedic Hospital under Dr. Anima Anup, Chief Consultant and Dr. M. K. Hemachandran, Senior Consultant, Athreyam Hospital.
Athreya Research Foundation celebrated world environmental Day with various activities. At Athreyam campus Thiruvilwamala, medicinal/ fruit bearing /shade trees were planted at various spots and the importance of conserving our natural resources were discussed in an open forum.
Athreyam also planted trees in the premises of local temple and distributed seedlings for planting.The program was conducted in association with State Bank of India, Thiruvilwamala branch. The Aluva campus upheld this year’s theme of ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ by promoting the use of paper bags and emphasising the need to Go green.
Athreyam Hospital conducted a Free Ayurveda Medical camp on March 4th, 2018 at St. George Chruch, Thiruvilwamala. Dr. M K. Hemachandran and Dr. Anima Anup volunteered from the hospital as the chief physicians and Father Sajan Pindiyan presided the introductory ceremony. Dr. Anima Anup delivered a talk on ‘Ayurveda and Lifestyle’ and Dr. M K. Hemachandran delivered a talk on ‘Global acceptance of Ayurveda’. The talk was followed by General Checkup and consultation. Shri. Shripad Naik, the Honourable Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) and Prof. Richard Hay, Member of Parliament (M.P.) were handed over Athreyam Brochure and Momemto by Shri.P. N. Chandran, the Trustee & Secretary of Athreya Research Foundation during the Namami Yogam 2018 Programme conducted by PYTRC. The specially made momento represented the activities of our Gausamrakshnanidi (cattle care and protection).

Sree Sankara Tapovanam International Yoga Training Centre will be starting various Yoga classes under the mentorship of Shri. Kaithapram Vasudevan Namboothiri.
Athreyam cultural centre was open to the devotees at Pampadi and Thiruvilwamala to conduct ‘Rugmini Swayamvaran’ as part of 10 days satram at the Lord Shiva Temple. Athreyam, with the active involvement of the devotees from different places and the local community held a devotional staging of ‘Lord Krishna-Rugmini wedding’.
The brochure of Sree Sankara Tapovanam International Yoga Training Centre was released by famous Carnatic musician Sangeetha Rathnam Eswaran Bhattathiri. The Agasthya Statute at Tapovanam was unveiled by Guruvayoor Tantri Dr. Chennas Dinesh Nampoothiri on January 2 nd 2018.
